As some of you may have heard GRT Evolutions has changed owners. The awesome Frank Schlatterer has stepped down from his post as owner/operator and I have replaced him. My name is Brian Lohr and you may know me from the website All Day Ruckoff. I hope this post gives you insight in what I see as the future for GRT Evolutions and answers any questions you may have.
Why Did Owners Change?
If you didn’t know that owners changed then your first question is probably why did this happen. To make a story short you can read this post about Frank stepping down as the owner of GRT Evolutions. Once he announced that I got in contact with him and we went back and forth trying to figure out a way to keep the site up and running. I really like the content on this website and absolutely did not want to see it disappear. The conclusion we came to was that I would take it over and continue to run it as it had been run… which is something I’m very excited about. For the past week I’ve been migrating the website over to my hosting plan and I’m excited to say that the migration phase is complete!
The Future of GRT Evolutions
To me, GRT Evolutions has always been a place where GRT can help each other out and have their voice heard. There are some amazing gear reviews and AARs on here that were all sourced from the GORUCK community. I want things to stay that way but I want to push them a little further. I already have a place that I write for (All Day Ruckoff) and I don’t want GRT Evolutions to become an extension of that. If you must, think of them as sister sites or cousin sites because they’re definitely related but they’re still going to be very, very different.
I really like the idea that all of the posts are from the GRT community about things that we care about. My first order of business is going to be to come up with a GRT Evolutions Contributor patch. This patch will be GRT Evolutions’ gift (and incentive) to anyone who writes content and has it posted on the website. It hasn’t been designed yet but there are a few ideas I have floating around. Patch production and shipping will be paid for by All Day Ruckoff so it will be free to you the contributor.
I really hope everyone is excited about where the website is going and that it’s sticking around. If you have any concerns please feel free to leave them in the comments or shoot me an email. I haven’t set up a GRT Evolutions email address yet so it will have to go to my ADR one for now. Please reach out to me if you have an idea for a post because I’d love to hear them!
Stay tuned because there are a lot more fun things to come.

Brian I’m so glad to hear this. ADR and this site are my two of my most favoritest sites. I look forward to seeing where you’ll take GRT Evolutions.

Thanks so much Chris! I’m very excited about this as well and can’t wait to get some new content from the community up on here.

What kind of content and reviews are you looking for in the future? Glad to see that this is remaining up and about to help people.
Brian Lohr says
Thanks Nick! Always looking for more AARs with great pictures… there’s nothing better than putting one of those together. As for reviews we’re looking for equipment that works exceptionally well for the person and isn’t your standard piece of gear (aka not a GR1 review) because those are all over the place. If you have an idea for something feel free to send it this way.
Hope that helps!

I’ll hit you up with a 5.11 MOAB 6 as camera bag/carry-on to Nepal in a couple days. I’ve got a lot going on at the moment but want to continue to contribute to this page.

That’s awesome! I look forward to it and have a great trip.
